Cecelia Ruiz Martinez

for Member at Large

My name is Cecelia Ruiz Martinez and I am running for the office of Member at Large.

I, along with my nine sisters and two brothers were raised in Lake Elsinore where I continue to live with my son David who is the youngest of my seven children – six boys, one girl and eight beautiful grandchildren. I descend from Sulpicio, Fernando and Carlota, ancestors who came from the villages of Tobe, Pagevepet and Torjavit.

I believe I have the skills and compassion to represent the tribe as Member at Large. Having worked in the International Insurance and Mortgage industries, I have learned problem solving, have an eye for detail and an excellent work ethic. This experience has ultimately strengthened my Spanish language skills which have assisted in our tribe’s membership petition for Federal Recognition. I am people oriented with excellent listening and communication skills.

I am currently working with our genealogist translating Mission records that are vital for our recognition. Through this work, I have and developed a strong working relationship with the Tribal Council.

I was nominated by Teeter Romero, endorsed by and proud to endorse Anthony Rivera Jr. for Chairman, Fran Yorba for Vice Chairwoman, Nathan Banda for Secretary/Treasure and Chris M Lobo for Member at Large.

Although there are several fine candidates running for your consideration…I ask to be your FIRST consideration!

If elected, it would be a great honor to serve the people of the Acjachemen Nation.
